YOUNG ACTORS COMPANY AND
JUNIOR ACTORS COMPANY
Young Actors Company
The RSS is very proud of its vibrant and exciting Young Actors Company which meets every Saturday afternoon (4-6pm) for ten-week courses during the academic terms leading to a major production in February each year in our theatre. The first session of the new term is on Saturday 14 September.
The RSS YAC has received nominations and awards at the annual Arts Richmond Swan Awards for its productions and has taken part in the National Theatre’s Connections Festival.
The age group for the RSS YAC is Year 10 to end of Year 13.
The RSS YAC is taught and led by a professional actor and director. Fees are kept low in accordance with our charity status with the current fee being £10 for each two-hour session and consideration can be given to a waiver of fees in certain circumstances. Any new member can come for a free trial session.
There is no audition process for joining the RSS YAC which is an inclusive organisation with places for two special needs children. The only restriction is that membership of the RSS YAC is limited to a maximum of 24 young students each year.
All members of the RSS YAC are required to become Junior Members of the RSS which (amongst other benefits) entitles them to audition and take part in other RSS productions.
For further information on the RSS YAC and to apply to join please email the YAC director, George Abbott, at

Junior Actors Company
The RSS has recently reopened their Junior Actors Company which meets every Wednesday evening from 5-6:30pm. The first session of the new year is on Wednesday 11 September.
The group is for Years 7 to 9 (from start of secondary school) and sessions run throughout the academic terms.
Our aim is always to establish a confident group, building on skills for creating performances. Depending on numbers we always like to work towards presentations and performances on a termly or an annual basis.
The RSS JAC sessions are delivered by a professional actor and director. The sessions are at an affordable price of £8 per session. In order to create a company that is fully accessible to everyone the fees can be discussed in certain circumstances. Any new member can come for a free trial session.
Theatre is a place where all are always welcome, and that is why we do not have an audition process and welcome all people who would like to join.
