the story of a passionate love affair which implodes in the course of one day in 1952. Hester is older than Freddie but her desire for him makes Hester leave her respectable husband, a Judge, and follow Freddie to Canada and then back to a seedy room in Ladbroke Grove. The play explores Hester's need to be herself and the attractiveness of instability.
