BINGO: SCENES OF MONEY AND DEATH

by Edward Bond
Saturday 13 to Saturday 20 September 2025
Mary Wallace Theatre

It is 1615 and Shakespeare has come home. He cannot write and his theatre lies in ruins. His long absence has festered tensions in his family and the financial security he seeks demands the inhumane oppression of the poor. London was brutal, but can Stratford offer peace? Or have horrors followed him home?

Bond’s accessible modern classic explores the relationship of the world’s greatest playwright to the injustice and inequality in his society; one that is the foundation of our own.

Guidance – The play features scenes which some may find upsetting including a sexual scene, suicide, and graphic capital punishment.
