VITA & VIRGINIA

by Eileen Atkins, adapted from correspondence between Virginia Woolf and Vita Sackville-West
Sunday 25 September to Saturday 1 October 2011
Mary Wallace Theatre

This fascinating study of the relationship between Virginia Woolf and Vita Sackville-West is based on their correspondence over 20 years, from 1922 until 1941, and maps the loves, lives and writings of a remarkable pair of women writers from the Bloomsbury Group. Enormous social changes in Britain are reflected in their laconic and often acid wit, whilst their social class gives them the time and opportunity to push the boundaries - in all directions!
