GREAT EXPECTATIONS

by Charles Dickens, adapted by Jo Clifford
Saturday 24 to Saturday 31 March 2012
Mary Wallace Theatre

A hero and heroine who age from nine to middle age, a flight down river, a convict pursued across the marshes, a decaying wedding cake, an abandoned bride goes up in flames, a blacksmith’s forge, a grand subscription ball, rags to riches and back again. A story of abuse and of love twisted and stifled, Dickens’s most accessible and perhaps most devastating novel, adapted for the stage by Jo Clifford, realised at the M.W.T. by a team of very brave, very imaginative and very, very committed actors.
