HAMLET

by William Shakespeare
Saturday 26 October to Saturday 2 November 2019
Mary Wallace Theatre

In the rain-soaked streets of modern Denmark, civil unrest is simmering. The King has died suddenly and strangely. His brother Claudius has immediately seized the throne, in a breach of all custom, democracy and law, and then married the widowed Queen. The heir apparent, young Hamlet, has been brushed aside. Can friends, lovers, political manoeuvring or popular support for Hamlet sort this out? Or will violence bring down the Royal House? This radical Scandi-noir production underlines the pace and poetry of Shakespeare’s world famous play.
