A TENDER THING

by Ben Power
Sunday 26 January to Saturday 1 February 2014
Mary Wallace Theatre

Freely adapting the text of Romeo and Juliet, Ben Power has created a very contemporary tale of love and sacrifice, weaving Shakespeare's original into a delicate and haunting meditation on the forces that hold a relationship together. Focused upon a much older couple than Shakespeare's original impulsive Veronese teenagers, the play is an elegiac, yet ultimately uplifting, account of the human capacity to love.
