A Midsummer Night’s Dream

by William Shakespeare
directed by Deborah Campbell

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Take four runaway lovers, a mysterious forest, a pack of meddling spirits, a motley comic crew and a love potion to create the Shakespeare's famous tale of amorous mayhem. Set this in the enchanting gardens of York House and you have the perfect summer evening's entertainment.

This is our Open Air Show, in the gardens of York House. Have a picnic before the show or in the interval (wine, beers, Pimms and soft drinks on sale) and enjoy the lovely setting. Please bring your own rugs or chairs as none are provided for the performance.

What about the weather?
As you know English summers can be blazing hot or decidedly damp.
We intend to carry on with the show come rain or shine so please come suitably prepared.
It is very rare for a performance to be cancelled and never prior to the start time. In the unlikely event of a cancellation please retain your ticket so that it can be exchanged for another night.

Please note that this year we will be playing in the Fountain Garden of York House, NOT in the Sunken Lawn as usual. The entrance will be through the Champion's Wharf Sculpture Park, reached from Riverside (close to the Mary Wallace Theatre).

At the bottom of Church Lane, where you are facing the boat ramp, turn LEFT along Riverside (towards the bridge over the road). The Sculpture Park will be on your right, and very soon you will see the entrance.
